Explore Beyond the Usual
Infinite Quest - Book Review
by R. Ann Rousseau
"Now, in this ground breaking book, John takes you on an infinite quest to develop your own psychic intuition as a powerful tool for taking charge of your life."-from the book jacket of Infinite Quest
Well, that's what the book cover says anyway. The word "Groundbreaking" was an obvious adjective used by the marketing department at Sterling. I would say, overall, the book was insightful.
The book has twelve chapters that are like a mini psychic development class with John Edward where he teaches the reader techniques to get in touch with their intuitive abilities and helps them determine if doing readings for the public are the right road for them. The concepts will be a review for those who have already studied psychic development but John's personal experiences make the book interesting to read no matter where you are in your metaphysical studies.
I enjoyed reading about the process John goes through to prepare for his readings. He talks a lot about the need to tame the Inner Monster (the ego) of a psychic and the need to step back and acknowledge that the reading is about being of service to the client not about smoke and mirrors. I couldn't agree more.
In the book, he stresses ethical responsibility when doing readings,
"When you give a person any type of psychic information, your words have an enormous responsibility...You must NEVER tell them [your client] what to do, even if you believe that you know what the potential outcomes will be for them...You must always remember your role in your client's experience: to provide insights in a positive way to enhance their life and to assist in their decision making process." Great advice.
After reading the book and putting it down for a few weeks, what I remember most is John's continual insistence about the need for what he calls "Psychic Self Defense." When you give readings, you are opening your energy field to absorb another person's energy in order to read them. In the book, he describes various techniques for protecting yourself and give examples as to why it's important. As a result of reading John's book, I have to admit, I'm more diligent about saying my prayer of protection at least twice a day.
I highly recommend John Edward's book Infinite Quest and encourage you to consider his very sound advice about doing intuitive readings for other people.
